Excerpt
Marc woke with the
distinct high-pitched siren of an Italian police or ambulance, the see saw of
two notes back and forth that told him he wasn’t in the States. For a brief
moment, he thought perhaps he could be back in Afghanistan.
            She
was draped warmly across his chest. He opened his eyes to see if she still was
as beautiful as he’d remembered her earlier in the day, and found she was
watching him already.
            “Wish
we could talk, honey. I’d tell you how beautiful you are. I’d tell you that you
make me hot all over again just looking at you, and because you don’t
understand, I’d tell you that the way you make me feel, well, I’d be
embarrassed to tell you this, but I—I haven’t felt this good in weeks.”
            She
smiled and touched his lips with her palm, softly silencing him. He ached to be
able to talk to her, and knew, from the position of her head and her eyes that
demurely looked down to his chest that she did too. He saw more than a little
sadness there when she fixated on him again and he found her eyes had watered.
It was reflex, he knew, but his did too.
            He
glanced away quickly and covered his face with the back of his forearm. She
began to trace the frog prints, then the scar on his left side where he’d taken
a glancing round. Her small fingers found the line under his left chin where
the Afghani soldier had tried to garrote him and had paid for it with his life.
            She
kissed all those places, bringing his arm off his face to kiss every frog print
one by one as well. When she was finished, neither of them had tears in their
eyes. Her strong face in the afternoon sunlight splashing on the stucco walls
of her little place would be something he’d remember forever. The mystery woman
who turned his life around and who didn’t even know what gift she’d bestowed.
            He
watched her well-toned and tanned body cross the room, stopping to open the
refrigerator. She pulled out a large bottle of water, put it to her lips and
threw her head back taking a long sip. Her profile with her pert nipples on
ample breasts rising above her flat tummy, contrasted to her powerful thighs
that had hugged him just as surely as her arms had when he made love to her—it
was such a perfect picture he nearly gasped.
            She
held the bottle up, and yes, he nodded. He wanted some. He didn’t care if she
poured the ice water all over his body, he’d stay the course if it meant she’d
love him again. She motioned to his mouth and tilted her head back to tell him
she wanted to pour the water there. God, yes, he would. He opened his lips and
she straddled him, pouring the liquid carefully on his tongue, diverting some
of it to her mouth as well. Tiny trickles of water fell down his neck and cheek
onto her pillow. The dampness accentuated the perfume that arose from her
bedding.
            Her
mouth was chilled but still sent a hot shudder through him as she tongued her
way inside him. Sharing a water bottle had never been sexier. She drank some
and then poured it inside from her mouth to his.
            He
sat up and forced the water bottle from her hand, setting it firmly on the
floor. He threw her on the bed and pinned her beneath him.
            “Namo?”
he demanded.
            She
giggled and shook her head.
            “Namo,”
he insisted.
            She
pointed to her temple as if she’d forgotten.
            “Nah,
nah you’re not going to play that game with me. You have a name and I want to
know who it is before I fuck you again.”
            “Fuck?”
she said with her Italian eyes widening. “Ah, Englise.” She pointed to her
temple again.
            “Yea,
you understand the word fuck, but not name? Namo, dammit.”
            She
laughed, arching those impossibly beautiful breasts into him, her fingers
playing with the long strands of her hair. He was getting annoyed she wouldn’t
tell him what he obviously wanted. Her eyes flashed as she danced with his
heart. As she wrapped his waist with her legs, daring him.
            He
knew it was best to keep the woman happy. But it irritated him she was playing
with him so obviously. As he plunged in, perhaps too needily he rocked her bed
loudly with his thrusts. The windows shook and something fell to the floor,
like a picture, and broke. She laughed and he kept pumping her to oblivion.
Until she stopped laughing and then ran her palms over his shoulders and upper
arms, back up to his face, tracing his lips, as he drew her fingers into his
mouth and sucked them.
            He
kept up the desperate action of his hips as if he could make them both fly away
somewhere, somewhere they could speak together. Somewhere he could tell her
what she was making him feel, so he could hear it from her mouth what she felt.
It became important, urgent.
            He
could already tell when she was going to orgasm. She sucked in air and that
long wonderful rolling cry, riddled with the sounds of their flesh slapping
against each other filled his heart with music.
I can take you places, baby. Places you’ve
never seen. Give me half a chance and I will worship the ground you walk on,
even if it’s only for this glorious afternoon. I want you to smell me in your
sheets and call to me and I’ll come to you. Again and again. I’m coming to you,
baby.

            They’d
dressed after a long shower and more play. He knew it was a tiny bit of grief
creeping back in. Separation was a problem for him. The cappuccino helped.
Their affair ended the same way it began, on the Piazza overlooking the boats
with sirens still dotting the early evening air. He smelled like her lemon
shower gel, but his insides wore her aura like a warm blanket he would never be
rid of.
            As
he watched her walk away down the streets, noticing she didn’t turn around to
say goodbye, he thought perhaps he saw her hand up to her face, but wasn’t
sure. He knew, with the cruise leaving in the morning, and her refusal to give
him her name, there was no future there for them. He did have her address. He’d
written it in his little notebook. He’d try a bouquet of flowers, maybe a
letter. Perhaps they could write, have someone translate. Perhaps the long
distance would help them become friends first, though god knew they were well
suited for each other in bed. He’d never felt so complete with her.
            He
got the book out to find the page, just as she turned the corner and was gone
from sight. Opening it to the place where he’d written her address was
something she’d written in Italian.
            And
underneath her words, she’d written her name,
            Sophia.

Blog Tour & Giveaway: “Book One: The Girl (The Sanctum)” by Madhuri Blaylock

Book One: The Girl

(The Sanctum)
By Madhuri Blaylock
Blurb:

The Sanctum, an all-powerful governing body founded by ten families, entrusted to maintain the peace amongst Magicals and ensure the ignorance of humans, has been corrupted by greed and savagery for generations, but is all Wyatt Clayworth has ever known.
Dev, the hybrid demon prophesied to bring an end to The Sanctum and destroy the world for Magicals and humans alike, is not what Wyatt expected to find when sent out on his latest mission. Believed to be hunting a killing machine, Wyatt finds little more than a broken girl with haunted eyes and a bit of a death wish. Drawn to one another for reasons they cannot begin to explain to themselves, much less anyone else, Wyatt is determined to protect Dev and help her realize her mission to avenge the deaths of her family at the hands of The Sanctum.
Set against the backdrop of New York City, THE GIRL is described as “outstanding, original, complex, deep and intoxicating”, a “well written, unique…fast-paced read” that begins as one girl’s simple quest for revenge and evolves into a complicated tale of trust, friendship, honor and love.

Without making a sound, Wyatt quickly found the exact place he was seeking. Ducking under some low-hanging tree branches, he ventured into the dark, partially-hidden lair only to be met with a less-than-welcoming blade at his throat. Dev had moved slightly from the hiding place Wyatt left her and although the lower half of her body remained immobile, her arms were functioning just fine, as evidenced by the blade drawing a thin trickle of blood from Wyatt’s neck. One wrong move and she would certainly kill him.

Wyatt slowly brought his hands up to Dev’s, wrapped his fingers around hers and painstakingly maneuvered the blade away from his neck. Only then did he dare make eye contact with her.

“You didn’t really think I was just going to leave you here, did you?” Wyatt asked as he moved to retrieve his blade from Dev.

She wasn’t quite ready to give it up and slashed at Wyatt’s outstretched hand, managing to nick his wrist.

“Crap!” Wyatt sat back on his heels, holding his wrist, and laughed, “fair enough. I deserved that. I should have told you I was coming back, but I couldn’t risk Ryker overhearing or suspecting anything. Trust me, if he thought I was coming back for you he would have spent all night watching me like a hawk. So I left you and walked away and it worked. Now get over it and give me back my blade.”

Despite the laughter in his voice, Wyatt wasn’t playing. He wanted his blade. Her name was Odara and she had been handed down the Clayworth line since the witnessing of The Code of Ten. She was sharper than any Raven blade and fit his hand like a glove. Many had fought and died at his hand thanks to Odara. She was his protector and he wanted her back where she belonged, safely strapped to his hip.

“Kill me,” Dev offered the blade at a price.

Wyatt stood up tall and glared down at Dev, clenching his jaw in irritation.

“Kill me,” Dev challenged him again, taunting him with her smug stare and grim request.

With blinding speed, Wyatt landed on Dev, knocking her to the ground. Before she even realized what was happening, he locked down her arms and liberated his blade from her grasp. Wyatt hovered above Dev, inches from her face, momentarily tempted to slice her throat and end all of this drama. She couldn’t move a muscle.

“You are in no position to bargain with me,” Wyatt angrily whispered, never taking his eyes off of hers. “I am faster and stronger than you. So don’t even think about toying with me like that again.”

Wyatt pushed himself off of her, replaced Odara at his hip and grinned mischievously. “For the record, my blade isn’t worth your life. I just want it back. And I asked nicely the first time.”

Dev remained in her prone position, staring up at Wyatt, uncertain of her next move. She didn’t have the strength necessary to pull herself into a seated position and she definitely was not going to ask for help.

“What?” Wyatt stared down at Dev, knowing she needed help to get up but determined to make her ask for it.

Even in the darkness, Dev could see Wyatt’s eyes sparkling with amusement. He was thoroughly enjoying this little moment between the two of them. His pleasure made her wish she had slit his throat when she had the chance. Rather than requesting his assistance, Dev focused every ounce of her energy on rolling over onto her stomach. If she could do that, she could easily pull herself into a sitting position, Wyatt be damned. She closed her eyes and focused every fiber of her being on the task at hand but nothing happened. Her body failed to react. It didn’t even twitch. The body that had so beautifully saved her from certain death at the hands of those Sanctum fools just hours earlier now couldn’t even roll over. She shook with frustration, wanting to scream to the heavens in rage, knowing such action was futile and beneath her. So she took a calming breath, opened her eyes and glared at Wyatt.

“Ahhhh, you’re back. I was starting to miss your charming scowl,” Wyatt bent low and absentmindedly pushed some of Dev’s hair out of her eyes, “was getting worried there for a second.”

Dev grabbed his hand in her vice-like grip. She hated him and his snarky comments.

“I realize you don’t like me,” Wyatt pulled his hand out of her grasp and gently placed his arms around Dev, helping her to sit, unable to look at her lying helplessly on the ground for another second, “but I’m all you’ve got so by all means, continue simmering in your hatred for me but do so with the understanding that I’m on your side.

“All this stabbing and cutting nonsense has got to end. If you want to hurt me, just imagine it, okay? Pretend. Don’t actually do it. I heal quickly but it still hurts like hell.”

“Now we’ve got to get out of here fast,” Wyatt checked his watch, alarmed at how much time had passed since he jumped out of his window, “and you still can’t walk, which means I’m going to have to pick you up again. Whether you’re okay with it or not.”

He leaned back on his heels and waited, for some reason hoping Dev would respond, all the while knowing she would not. Dev listened with keen interest to every word coming out of Wyatt’s mouth. She most certainly didn’t like him, but she had to respect his determination. He fully intended to get her out of this park and to somewhere safe and against her better judgment, a tiny part of her was relieved. It was the same, small part of her that was fiercely drawn to him, like a sickness almost. And it was the part of her she most wanted to destroy.

Dev hardened her resolve, focused on her intense hatred for all things Sanctum and shut down.

For an instant, Wyatt thought he saw a spark in Dev’s eyes and just as quickly, it was gone. At that moment, for reasons unknown to himself, Wyatt resigned himself to a one-sided relationship with her, one completely based upon his will to help her. He stood up and reached for her, praying she didn’t have a blade hidden somewhere, knowing that if she did, this time she would definitely kill him. To his surprise, Dev wrapped her arms around his neck and allowed Wyatt to scoop her up and into his arms, but he thought nothing more of it, knowing full well she was merely using him to further her agenda.

And that was all right.

excerpt

Danika, in human form, paced the length of the Hatter and Aliceís quiet cabin. The two were in the back bedroom, discussing (none too quietly) what to do about their daughter.

Sighing, Danika flitted almost absentmindedly toward the delicious aroma of yeasty baked bread filtering from out of the kitchen. Her stomach growled, Aliceís food was ambrosia and had become her kryptonite.

Sheíd had no idea what that word meant first time Gerardís Betty had uttered it, but the adorably geeky nerd had, with great patience, explained the mythos of a man called Superman, who Danika had to admit sounded deliciously scrumptious. Next time she met with Jericho sheíd have to ask him to try on a pair of tights, apparently it was the epitome of male masculinity to wear them. At least so far as Betty was concerned, though Danika had a hard time picturing it.

Aliceís crying finally stopped.

Sniffing, Danika wiped her nose and the corners of her eyes. She hated to hear the lass cry, seemed like that was all she did anymore. Ever since Chrysalis ran away Alice had turned into a quiet, sullen woman. The vivacious beauty rarely left her home and Hatter was clearly at the end of his rope. Alice, and now Chrysalis, were the only things holding that poor manís sanity together.

Without their strength heíd quickly devolve back into a quarter sane male bordering on permanent lunacy. Danika hadnít wanted to come and share the news of the bloody massacre sheíd come across in the woods, but sheíd had no choice.

The three of them had to game plan a way to stop this soon before the fairy council took steps to end Chrysa themselves. And whatever method they devised to do it, would be ten times worse than what she hoped to concoct.

The Blueís hatred of Danika and her boys had grown to legendary proportions, she knew Galeta was just chomping at the bits to dig the dagger in deeper. Hurting Danika through Hatterís child would definitely do it.

Danika hadnít shared with the couple her fears of the council yet, mainly because each time she did she felt like more of the villain than Galeta. Watching the pain filtering through Aliceís eyes, the love of a mother for her daughter, it was akin to a physical blow for Danika. Through the years Danika had grown to love the bad five and their mates as if they were her own. Ever since becoming a godmother sheíd only ever developed this type of intense bond rarely.

So when they hurt, she hurt.

Sheíd had every intention of telling Alice and Hatter that the only way to ensure Wonderlandís safety was to put down their daughter. But the moment sheíd stepped foot into their home, she knew there had to be another way. Jericho always told her to believe in him, to have more faith in her ability as a godmother, to believe in herself too.

So thatís what sheíd do. Sheíd figure this out, the cat told her to be mad. Well, how did one do that?

By going to the source of course. Together, they must be able to come up with something.

JAY’S REVIEW:

*I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.*

“When you own your breath, nobody can steal your peace.” Love this!

Found In You is a sweet romance about family, hope, healing, and love. Getting past the demons that hunt them and getting their happily ever after is what Camryn and Cole want the most in life.

There’s all kinds of ups and downs in this story and even though I enjoyed the story, it was a little too fast for my liking. I enjoyed Camryn and Cole as a couple but their relationship happened too fast. I mean, I know it happens in “real” life but it was a little unrealistic. Both Camryn and Cole have a past that isn’t letting them move on without the fear of getting hurt. As much as they tried to get past it, there was always something in their way. Don’t want to ruin in for anyone so I won’t go into detail.

One thing that did drive me nuts was the constant pushing away. Even though Cam always found their way back, she was constantly running. Why not talk about it, you know?

Cole is very lovable! Just want to hold him and squeeze him. Love the constant looking out for Cam and Gavin. Always concerned with their well being. He was so good with Gavin and what’s not to like about that! Reminded me a lot of my husband. Gotta love Cole!

I got very emotional with all of Me-Ma’s surprises. Even though she was gone, she let her presence be known. Made me think a lot about how I would feel if someone did that for me once they were gone. A little bittersweet.

I’m all about having a good group of people in your circle, so I was glad that both Cam and Cole had someone supporting them throughout the book.

Overall it was a good quick read. It kept you on your toes to see what would happen next. I would definitely recommend this to a friend.

If women tell you they don’t like power, they’re fucking lying. They do like it, and do you know how I know this? They’ve all become a little too obsessed with books and movies that make masochistic males out to be the good guys. So as I tell you my side of the story, remember, I’m the good guy. Well, at the very least, I’m good-looking.

People say I’m arrogant and rude, which is laughable when that is what has drawn them to me in the first place. I would prefer to think of myself as a confident, self-assured man who knows what he wants. And I most definitely knew what I wanted when it came to Evie.

That girl wasn’t like the others, which is probably why I took the whole game to another level and had to put a ring on her finger. I wanted her as my property. She needed to be mine to do what I wanted with; mine to control. She was a challenge. Even now I can see it in her eyes as she’s gagging on my cock. Now don’t go and get all soft on me. You think she really doesn’t want this? Bullshit. She’s a great actress, the theatrics all being part of the game. It makes it more exciting for me and her if she puts up a little resistance.

Do you know what I like best about Evie? Her mouth. She’s got these luscious lips that are full and plump. I’m preferable to her painting them with a red glossy lipstick because it gets me off to see the bright stain around my cock as she gives me head. Like the clothes she wears and the way she acts, I control everything down to her make-up. I have her wear the kind of make-up that I’m preferable to. Don’t judge. I told you, I like control.

It’s been a long day. I’ve had conferences with clients and dinner with business partners. We’ve only just returned to our apartment in the city but my night is far from over. There will always be more work, it’s the nature of the beast. I didn’t get to being CEO of my own company by slacking off. Labouring jobs are for losers. Sure, I had a privileged upbringing and was born with the proverbial silver spoon in my mouth, but I still believe in good work ethics. Rome wasn’t built in a day, and if I want to continue on my path of wealth and success then I’m damn well going to put my work before absolutely everything.

First things first, though. Despite the lateness of the evening, I wanted a little release. I wanted those red lips on my cock, sucking me until my balls cease to ache with lust. I’m not going to stop until I’ve squirted my seed into her throat and made her swallow the whole damn lot.

Nights like these, I prefer to sit in my leather chair that faces out of the panorama glass windows that afford views over the Brisbane River. The lights of the Story Bridge twinkle back at me and the water looks dark, murky and mysterious under the night sky. I bought this apartment as a wedding gift for Evie, but for the most part I don’t think she likes it. Ungrateful springs to mind, although it could just be the company. I’m seriously laughing as I tell you that, because to be honest, I don’t give a fuck whether she likes me or not. She’s mine and that’s all that matters.

While downing my fifth scotch for the evening, I beckon her to me. She says nothing, but she knows what I want. Forget the elephant in the room; it’s a bit hard to hide my bulging erection that I’ve freed from my pants. Most people would be worried about getting their four hundred dollar trousers dirty. Not me. That kind of money is pocket change in my world. Despite her eagerness to oblige me, there is a reason behind her willing to please. I mean come on, if you haven’t figured it out already you’re not as smart as I thought you were. Okay, I’ll spell it out for you any way. I get a little rough. Not all the time, but if you don’t give me what I want, well, let’s just say there are consequences.

‘On your knees’. There was no need for the command, but fuck, I’ve got to say I like the sound of my own voice. It’s rich, deep, commanding and powerful. It speaks of a man who has always gotten what he wants. Evie is no exception. I wanted her then and I want her now. She obliges me by sliding to her knees, her silk stockings making it slippery on the tiles for her. She grabs my knees to steady herself before leaning forward to take me in her mouth, all the while not making eye contact with me. I let her get away with it for the minute, but my patience has limits.

Her mouth is hot and wet. It is utter delight as her lips start to move back and forth over my shaft, messily leaving behind her lipstick as she does. As she goes to work on me, I down the last of my drink before taking her carefully done braid in my grasp. Evie is definitely in my league as far as looks go. She’s got long, blonde hair that has never seen the inside of a salon. All the streaks and highlights are from time spent outdoors. Sometimes she likes to challenge me on my rule of her keeping it natural. I think her opposing opinions are merely to rile me up so that I put her in her place. Yes, I do think she secretly likes me smacking her arse. It may belittle her at the time but you can be rest assured it makes her think twice before raising the subject again. I refuse to have my wife look like some fake, tarted-up bimbo. I want her looking natural – well, except for the red lippy. The red lipstick stays.

I’m not going to give it up easily. I’m going to make her work for it. Hell, I even zone out for a while, taking in the city that is my playground. Living and working in a town that is fast becoming a place that doesn’t sleep is like a drug. The more I immerse myself in it, the more I want to be king of this empire. Slowly but surely I’m putting other companies out of business. Pretty soon I’m going to have everything I ever dreamed of.

Evie is sucking greedily now. Not because she’s into it, because she’s not. Oh let’s be honest! She just wants me to give it up so she can get the job over and done with. I know she doesn’t mind me fucking her vanilla, but blowjobs have never been her thing. She tried to pull off me once just as I was about to come. What a mistake. She’s never tried to pull that shit again, although she still gags, the reflex an unbreakable trait. Like now, for example; even in the darkly lit living room I can see her eyes beginning to water as my dick swells against the back of her throat. I’m sure she can taste my pre-come – the salty, bitter fluid already affording her a taste of what’s to come.

I slide a little lower in my leather seat, thrusting just that little bit more inside of her mouth. She tries to back off, although there’s no escape. Her braid that is wound tightly around my fist is tugged ever so slightly, a reminder that I have control of her head. I’m close and she knows it. I can feel her reposition my dick towards the back corner of her mouth where her molars are so she doesn’t have to taste my semen on her taste buds. If I was any kind of man, which I am, I should be rather insulted by this – which I am. And when I’m insulted, I’m not very forgiving.

When I come, I come hard. And no, it’s not aimed at the back of her mouth like she’d have liked. Pulling her hair makes her wince and she loses some of the suction on my shaft, her lips making sucking and slurping noises as she tries to reposition me back to where she’d like me. Unfortunately for her, she’s too late. Her perfectly positioned tongue is only lapping at the eye of my cock when I blow in her mouth. I’ve got to give her credit for her spunk because she does try to pull away. Unsuccessfully, I might add. My grip on her hair forces her to remain right where she is. I keep her there until I’m licked clean. Getting a blow job is not as good as fucking her pussy, but it sure comes a close second. I never give her the satisfaction of pleasurable sounds coming from my mouth, though, because that would be giving her the green light that she has in some way pleased me. And with the knowledge that she has pleased me would give her power. Power I don’t want her to have.

There may, or may not be tears in her eyes tonight. They have no effect on me whatsoever. I dismiss her to bathe before bed while I pour myself a refill of scotch. Twenty-two stories below, people are still walking the boardwalk that runs along the river’s edge. Some are alone, others huddled together like love birds. It’s a sentiment I’m not familiar with. My whole life is lived like a business transaction. I know I like having Evie in my life and I know I like the status of being a married man. But love, well, it’s not for me.

In the beginning I know Evie foolishly thought that it could be that way between us. Like her parents, she was lured into the deception I was selling. Trust me when I say, no one sells lies like I do. I showed them what they wanted to see; revealed the parts of me and my life that would be desirable by a family like theirs. Each and every one of them fell hook, line and sinker. It’s laughable, really, that one family could be so gullible. I’m sure over the last three years they’ve all tried to think a way out of the Alex Stratford contract, but all I can say is, ‘Over my dead body,’ or more likely, over theirs.

EXCERPT:

A commotion down the hall
interrupted them. A large group gathered peering into one of the rooms, causing
others to congregate.

“Shit” Andrea muttered.
“Party might end soon if that’s a fight.”

Their small group shuffled toward
the assembling crowd. Carina rolled her eyes knowing they were being sheep
following the herd. At the entrance to the door Carina noticed most of Jaxon’s
entourage. Her internal radar screamed to stay away. Nothing good could come of
this. She grabbed Desirae’s arm and froze mid-step; they didn’t need to get any
closer. She didn’t want or need to see what was behind door number three. The
crowd pushed them forward causing one of Jaxon’s sidekicks to notice her.

“This show’s just for you
sweetness.” The guy sneered as he thrust Carina into the doorway. People
complained as she blocked their view, completely frozen in place.

The room must’ve been what Desirae
designated as one of the sex rooms. In the corner a couple was on the sofa
going at it but with a throw cover concealing their dirty deed. Another couple
was heavily making out while watching the room’s occupants and getting their
cheap thrills in that manner. But the main attraction was front and center and
purposely performing for the room and all those gathered in the hallway.

Carina wasn’t surprised to see him.
He was proud of every magnificent centimeter of his well sculpted body. Bile
rose in her throat. She was nothing more than another notch on his bedpost. She
knew this. She’d heard it from plenty of girls. But watching him at this
moment, performing for everyone caused mixed emotions. She choked on disgust
while trying to ignore her body’s immediate response to his gloriously naked
body. She was revolted with herself for feeling anything at all.

Jaxon aggressively pursued Carina
even after he’d bedded her. He’d whispered sweet nothings in her ear before,
during, and after sex. Many girls felt fortunate to get a semblance of his
attention. The “specially chosen ones” got to share more than one sexcapade with him.
Carina had lost count how many
times they’d had sex. What could she say? The man was gifted. But to watch him
bending this girl over and thrusting into her like a dog in heat was too much.
He knew everyone was watching and it only aroused him all the more. The
ignorant girl look mortified to be in the presence of an audience but
simultaneously in ecstasy at having Jaxon’s dick inside her.

It was abhorrent to know what was
happening but she couldn’t tear her eyes away. Jaxon’s sidekick caressed her
arm. Carina flinched and curled away from him. He wasn’t deterred though. The
sidekick loudly proclaimed, “Too bad it’s not you performing sweetness.
Jaxon said you’re the best pussy he’s ever had… and that’s saying a
lot.”

A few guys snickered. Carina turned
her head to the asshole; all she saw was red. The group in the hallway all
gaped at her but she didn’t give a shit. She should’ve been humiliated, instead
she was furious. He’d purposely brought her front and center. Not only to see Jaxon
at his finest but to make them all aware that she was one of his conquests.
Carina could see Desirae from the corner of her eye fighting to get through the
crowd.

She backhanded the asshole. She may
be one of Jaxon’s notches but she sure as hell would never have allowed this.
She knew the difference between being promiscuous and being a stupid skank.

“Fuck” Jaxon hissed as he
realized who stood in the doorway. He pulled out of the girl and shoved her
aside. Carina turned to look at him. She looked down at his glorious erection.
He unconsciously held it in his hand and stroked back and forth as he stared at
her. His eyes hooded with lust as he stepped toward her. He hadn’t looked like
that while banging the girl.
“Carina” he pleaded in a
husky voice. She turned in disgust and stepped away from the doorway as the
crowd gasped.

“You came for her?” The
girl in the room shrieked. Carina turned to see Jaxon still watching her. His
seed sprayed all over the floor and onto his hands. He had no condom on. The
bile rose faster. She’d used rubbers with him practically every time knowing
that he’d had his fair share of pussies. Thoughts of STD’s pummeled at her like
a freight train reminding her that it served her right if she caught something.
Someone like Jaxon just couldn’t help himself. Here he was at a party,
guaranteed to find someone fuck-worthy and rather than bring a rubber he just
stuck it in. Disgusting!

“You couldn’t get the job
done” Jaxon growled at the poor girl. She looked utterly humiliated.
Desirae yoked Carina away from
everyone. They could still hear them. She didn’t know if Jaxon even bothered to
put his pants on. He was well endowed and was proud to show it off.

“You fucking prick” Jaxon
bellowed. His sidekick said something in return but the crowd’s chants drowned
out his words. Carina flinched as she heard the contact. Knowing the hierarchy
in the group, Jaxon must’ve hit the lackey. Served him right too. Only if
someone would kick Jaxon in the balls then maybe there’d be justice in the
world.
Someone shouted at the group to
separate. They all scattered like roaches while Desirae escorted Carina
outside. Nauseous, Carina ran to the bushes and dry heaved. She couldn’t
believe what had just happened.

Teaser

The next morning Victoria was surprised to find it drizzling outside. She snuggled further under the quilt but when she reached over for Levi, he wasn’t there. She groggily opened her eyes and started to sit up looking for him, but he wasn’t inside the small cabin.

Wrapping the quilt around her body she shuffled over to the window to look out and see Levi rearranging some things in the truck. She opened it slightly and called out to him, “Morning, did you have breakfast yet?”
He waved back at her, there was mud down his jeans but he looked relaxed and almost cheerful. “No not yet. I’m trying to get down to the main house to get us some, it was included with our stay. God damn truck is stuck in the mud.”

Victoria sighed deeply, so much for getting to see the small town that was close by. “Well I packed some snacks.”

He smiled back at her and shrugged his shoulders and walked into the cabin taking off his muddy boots upon arrival.  He walked over to Victoria and delivered a light kiss on the cheek, “How did I get so lucky?”
She smiled back at him devilishly, “Can’t tell ya. So what’s the grand plan for today vacation planner?”
He laughed at her teasing, “You’ll just have to wait and see won’t you?”
She set her lips into a thin line, Victoria didn’t like surprises very much.
“Don’t worry about it. Just eat your granola bar.”

After they ate and Victoria had gotten dressed Levi led her to the back of the cabin to a small trail. “I think you’re really going to enjoy this.”

They walked through the cool spring air while trees shed sprinkles on them. They walked in silence, hand-in-hand over small rocks and twigs, through the mud until Victoria finally heard rushing water. “Is that a waterfall?”
Levi smiled at her. “Nope. I did you one better.”

As they continued to walk they came upon a clearing with a small hot spring receded into the ground. There were rocks set up around it clearly put there by nature while others had been moved by people to keep clothes dry and supplies away from the steam. Victoria smiled and pushed Levi playfully. “You know I didn’t bring a bathing suit!”

Levi kissed her on the lips pushing his body against hers, “Of course I know that.” He quickly began to strip, taking his hoodie and shirt off in a flash. Victoria watched with interested eyes as he turned to her, his tanned muscles rippling beneath the light rain. He walked over to her and wrapped his hands around her body to bring her closer. “You’re going to join me, right?”  He whispered hotly in her ear.

Excerpt
Marcus found Regan standing at the top of one
of the numerous cliffs that barricaded the Watchers’ complex, staring down at
the sea, her features pinched with concentration. The rain had finally stopped,
but dampness still hung in the salt-laden air. A thin mist hugged her feminine
figure, making moisture bead on her skin. She looked intangible, as elusive as
the fog encompassing her. Regan was so strong and capable, he sometimes forgot
how delicate she was.
The sight of her standing so close to the
edge triggered all his protective instincts, and something else—the forbidden
desire to touch. “Penny for your thoughts,” he said, burying his fists in his
jacket pockets, where they wouldn’t be tempted to stray.
She smiled but didn’t turn to look at him.
“Is that all they’re worth?”
“You drive a hard bargain. How ’bout a
quarter?”
She laced her arms across her chest as the
sun slowly set behind red-hued clouds. “What’s going to happen to him, Marcus?”
He didn’t have to ask her who she meant. Ever
since they’d found Ben cowering in that kitchen, the boy had dominated her
thoughts, maybe even her heart. Marcus had never believed it was possible for
their kind to love, but recently he’d been forced to revisit that assumption.
He’d seen it firsthand with Jace and Lia, and now he was seeing it again with
Regan. Maybe one didn’t necessarily need to have a soul in order to love. Maybe
just the echo of it was enough, similar to a phantom limb that continued to
throb long after it was severed.
“Cal hasn’t come to any decisions yet,” he
told her.
A brisk breeze blew, sending her curls
rioting around her face. Again, he was seized by the urge to reach out to her,
to smooth back her hair, to run the pad of his thumb across her mouth.
A mouth meant to be kissed.
He gave himself a mental kick, focused his
attention on the churning waves below. He had no business kissing Regan. No
business even thinking about it. When he’d taken the blood vow, he’d made a
conscious choice to swear off sex, same as all those who bore the Watchers’
mark.
Only Jace and Lia seemed exempt from this
oath, and Marcus couldn’t for the life of him figure out why. He’d seen Cal
punish his followers for far less a crime. If there was one thing his leader
demanded, it was absolute loyalty.
Regan picked up a pebble, then flung it over
the cliff into the restless ocean. “Do you believe in destiny?”
The question took him off guard. “I’m not
sure. I know Cal swears by it.”
“I didn’t ask about Cal. I asked about you.” She
ran her fingers through her hair, exactly as he’d imagined himself doing.
“Cal’s always preaching about fate, and for the most part, I believe him. But
deep down, there’s this inkling of doubt, and it gets me thinking sometimes. If
everything really is preordained, what happens to free will? Does it even exist
or are we just being strung along?”
“When did you go all philosophical on me?”
She inhaled deeply, drawing his attention to
the gentle swell of her breasts. Ignoring the kick beneath his ribs, he looked
past her, fixing his gaze on the rocky shore again.
“I don’t know,” she said. “I’ve been having
this feeling lately, like there’s something I’m supposed to do, but I’m not
sure what that is. I only know it involves Ben. He’s important somehow.”
He’d been having the same feeling, but he
refrained from telling her. The last thing he wanted was for her to grow even
more obsessed with the boy. In their world, obsession and impulsiveness often
spelled disaster.
“Regan, you need to trust Cal to do the right
thing. You know the drill—no Watcher can deviate from the plan. If you do
anything, anything that compromises the mission, you will be labeled a Rogue.
And you know better than anyone how the Watchers deal with Rogues.”
They hunted them down and exterminated them.
The idea of that happening to Regan tore a painful strip out of him. He’d spent
too many years training her, working alongside her, fighting to keep her alive,
to lose her now. Had she been capable of reading his thoughts, she would’ve
argued that she was the one always bailing him out of trouble, and she would’ve
been right. She’d saved him more times than he could count. They were a team,
more in tune than most, able to regenerate each other with nothing more than a
touch, thanks to the Watchers’ bond.
The truth was, he couldn’t picture his life
without her.
Losing the battle, he clasped her arms and
turned her to face him. “Promise me you won’t do anything stupid.”
She tensed at his touch, inclined her head to
look at him. “Define stupid.”
Those sweet-looking lips hovered inches below
his, too damn appealing to ignore. Right there and then, standing at the edge
of a deadly overhang ensnared by Regan’s smoky gaze, Marcus understood the
precise meaning of stupidity.
He was tempted to demonstrate, but he didn’t.
Releasing her, he secured a safe distance between them. “Just think before you
act. That’s all I ask.”
She visibly deflated, and he could’ve sworn
disappointment momentarily flittered across her face. Above them, the sun’s
dying rays struggled to pulse against a sky determined to suffocate them. Regan
grabbed another pebble and sent it whizzing through the air with a note of
finality. “Thinking is overrated.”
A bitter laugh rumbled in his
throat. If he wasn’t so damned disciplined, he would’ve agreed.

Excerpt

“Fight me, don’t you stop,” Axel breathes into my ear. “I won’t hurt you, Cricket,” he murmurs, running his finger down the side of my face. “But I need you to fight.”

So, that’s what I do.

I start by squirming, trying to twist my body around. He presses his body against mine, and reaches up, tangling his fingers into the fence. He thrusts his hips, ramming both out bodies harder into the wire. I groan, and throw my head back, hitting him in the face. He snarls, and takes my hands, quickly uncuffing me before pulling them harshly behind my back and jerking my body back into his.

I hear the cuffs drop onto the ground.

I guess he’s letting me play this fairly.

“Stop that,” he rasps into my ear. “I’ll make it hurt if you do that again.”

“Maybe I want it to hurt,” I hiss, fisting my hands together and shoving them backwards into his stomach.

He stumbles off me with a grunt, and I spin around, ducking to the left and attempting to run. I don’t get two steps before Axel lashes out, taking my ankle and pulling me so hard I go down into the dirt. My face just misses being smashed into it by mere centimeters. Axel flattens his body over mine, and takes my head in his hands, jerking my head back by my hair and breathing down on me. “You’re being a bad girl,” he husks, running a finger down the side of my face.

“You’re not letting me play fair,” I whisper. “I was cuffed before, it wasn’t a fair chase.”

I feel his weight lift off me, and he jerks me up, pulling me into a standing position.

“Run, then. I’ll give you five seconds, and if I catch you again, Meadow, I’m going to f**k you,” he murmurs, then his eyes grow lusty. “Hard.”
I turn without answering, and I run into the trees at the back of the lot. I hear Axel counting loudly, and my body shivers. I am sweating now, and my breathing is hard and ragged, but the chase is so worth that. I hear Axel take off after me, and I squeal with delight as I weave through the trees. It’s dark, but I can see enough because of the lights surrounding the club house.

“The minute I get hold of you,” Axel yells. “I’m goin’ to rip your panties down and put my d**k so deep inside you, you’re goin’ to scream.”
I shiver, and swallow. I make my way to the fence line again, and I press myself against it for a second, letting my eyes scan the trees.
“Then I’m goin’ to kiss you so hard your lips will bleed.”

Oh my.

I take off, using the fence line as a guide to get back to the other end of the lot. I can hear Axel to my left, and I know he’s gaining on me, but if I run, it’ll make a lot of noise and he’ll figure out where I am.

“Come out come out wherever you are,” he sings. “You know I’ll make you come so much your legs will give way.”

I feel a smile on my face as I keep moving along the fence, keeping my body plastered against it. I can feel my own arousal dampening my panties, and now I’m eager for him to get his hands on me. I want to know what he’s got to give.

“You can run, Cricket, but you can’t hide.”

Wearing only my loose brown pants, I crawled into the most
comfortable bed I had ever known and sank into the soft down pillows. I had just
started to drift off when I heard a knock at the door. I’m going to kill Avis.
“What do you-“ I started until I realized it wasn’t Avis. It
was a stunning blonde with blue eyes. Khea.

“I’m sorry to wake you. I just- I had to see you.” Her arms
moved to wrap around my waist and hold me tight as I questioned if I was really
sleeping or not.
“Uh, do you want to come in?” We both knew the rules about being in someone else’s
room after hours, so I pulled her in and sat down on the edge of the bed, still
a little surprised she was there.
In the dim light her hair looked a little darker, but her
face was still sweet and there was no denying that the last two years had done
her well. Who would have thought such a beautiful young woman would come from
that skinny little girl in Lagodon?
“How’d you know I was back?” I asked her, trying to appear
less tired or shocked than I was.
“A friend told me.”
“I didn’t think you-“ Cared? It wasn’t the right word, but I
was beyond amazed that she was interested in my whereabouts. I hadn’t seen her
since that night at the Moonwater and it had changed everything for me since
then. But for her, I wasn’t aware that she had been affected in any way.
“Ride with me tomorrow?”
“Uh, yea, of course.” It was a struggle to cover how little
I wanted to wait. I would have given anything to have her stay.
A wide smile erupted across her sweet lips as she said, “meet
me at the lake at noon.” With a lingering kiss on my cheek, she walked back
through the door and disappeared into the dark stone corridor.
What just happened?
I hadn’t seen her in person in years, and we were hardly close before that. And
now she arrived in my room in the middle of the night and kissed me on the
cheek. Was it a kiss like a friend would give another? Or more? I couldn’t make
any sense of it, but there was only thing I was sure of. I would be at the lake
at noon if it was the last thing I did.

MY REVIEW:

This book was a struggle initially for me as I was trying to get into the story. I didn’t necessarily get the OMG I can’t put this book down, but I did find myself still reading as there were questions in my head that needed to be answered from the beginning. The biggest one was “Where the hell are they going?” lol I know this question seems insignificant, but if you decided to read this novel, you will understand why that was my question. There were points in the book where i wished the author would have spent more time giving details or laying the foundation. Some of the book felt really rushed as though there wasn’t enough time to talk about what was happening and I believe it was because of that notion that someone how I felt cheated as if important points in the story were missing. Lots of the events that happened in the novel all happened so quickly whereas it reduced the probability of the readers truly engaging and enjoying the journey. Overall the story was a decent read and some what easy to follow, and ending was surprisingly better than the beginning of the book. I did enjoy the characters in the story including the bad ones…lol. They had a sort of camaraderie that really help transport the book and made it what it was. Though Lark had my attention, I really liked Khea’s  character. I must say, despite the fact that I did struggle reading this book in the beginning, as I continued to read things became more of an element of surprise.  Remember my question that initially kept me reading?  The author did have a way of making me feel like one of the characters in which I had to take the journey to the school with them, with absolutely no idea of what was going on or what to expect. If you like fantasy then this is a good book to read.

Prologue

“What the fuck does the bastard want now?” I huff out, glaring down at the name displayed on my cell phone. If I never have to speak to him again, it’ll be too soon. Jerking my right hand off the steering wheel, I reach over, turning the volume down on the stereo that’s blasting Avenged Sevenfold’s Nightmare” through the speakers.

My Father.

The person I hate most in the world. If God existed, the motherfucker’s life would have ended by now. But that hasn’t happened, and I don’t see it happening any time soon. I’m the type of guy that prays for his dad to get a brain-fucking hemorrhage that will take him straight to Hell, where he belongs.

“Yeah?” I greet the fuck as I turn into the underground parking garage at Lockhart Publishing in my silver Audi R8.

Way to ruin my day, Dad!

“Nicholas, is that any way to answer your phone? You’re the CEO of a company for Christ’s sake. The least you could do is act like a professional.” Two companies to be exact, but what the Hell does being a CEO have to do with professionalism when the person on the other end of the line is the sorry excuse I get to call father? The man should know by now, I’m going to do and act any damn way I want. I’ve never been the “do as you’re told” type, so why start now?

“I wasn’t aware this was a professional call.” My tone is sarcastic, but I don’t give a shit. The dick-fuck knows I hate him. Nothing is ever going to change that. We will never drink a beer together. We will never have a strong father/son bond. Hell, the only bond we do have is blood. The simple fact that his blood runs through my veins and that it will forever link us disturbs me.

“Son, let’s not argue today. I called for a specific reason, so I won’t keep you any longer than necessary.” I can tell by his clipped tone he doesn’t want to be on the phone with me any more than I do with him.

“Fine, then please tell me what you want so I can get back to work.” I breathe out in annoyance.

My father was a well-known Defense Attorney in LA when I was growing up. He made a living getting criminals out of jail for many years and now he’s a prominent judge. There is some real fucked-up irony in that. The man should be locked up for the shit he has done to my mother over the years. Why the woman stays married to him is beyond me. It’s not like she needs his money. In fact, my father has benefited from her inheritance more than she has.

Rotten bastard.

“As you know, Thursday is Thanksgiving, and your mother would like you and your sister present for lunch.” He knows I’ll do anything for my mom. I think I proved that to him a long time ago. “Do you think you can do this for her?” he adds. He knows I’m going to say yes.

“What time?” I ask on a sigh as I open my car door, stepping out into the dark, musky air under my building. To my annoyance, I slam the door harder than I intend. Fuck! Why do I let this man get under my skin so easily? Just the sound of his voice tends to set me off.

“Noon,” he responds. A few hours in the company of my father is sure to piss me right the fuck off along with adding additional renovations to my house for my handyman to fix. Not that I can’t fix the damage I create myself, but why go through all that trouble when I can hire someone to do it for me? I’m sure the guy already thinks I’m a raging alcoholic who comes home and punches holes in walls for fun. I’m not, of course, or at least I’m not yet. If he knew all the damage was the result of my frustration with my father, he would understand.

Yeah, so I have anger issues.

“Okay, but if you want Nikki there, then perhaps you should call your daughter yourself.” I make my way to the elevator pressing the “up” button. As I wait, I check the time on my Rolex. It’s 1:14pm. I have plenty of time before my meeting with Teresa. Why I ever made that woman Vice President of my company, I’m still not sure. She’s great at business and a brilliant editor, but damn, I wish she would stop trying to get into my pants every time we are alone. Now that she’s my VP, I see her more often than I like. It’s not like she isn’t attractive, because she is, with blonde hair, big tits, and a tiny waist, but I don’t sleep with people who work for me. And well…she annoys the fuck out of me, plus she is too bitchy. It’s a big fucking turn off!

The sound of my father’s voice brings me back to our conversation. I really need to wrap this up. The longer I speak to him, the longer I’ll be at Knocked Out tonight, kicking the shit out of my best friend’s ass.

Jase is one of the few people who knows about my relationship with my father and why I hate the man. He and I share a common hatred for our fathers. Everyone that works for my father thinks he’s an outstanding judge and wonderful family man.

What a crock of shit!

“Nicolette is being her usual immature and childish self. It would be easier for all of us if you ask her to come. She listens to you, Nicholas.” He sounds annoyed with his last statement and I silently laugh. My sister isn’t immature or childish. She would just rather ignore his calls than deal with the man. She hates the heartless bastard as much as I do.

Any man, who lays a hand on a woman with the sole intension of hurting her isn’t much of a man at all in my book. That’s the kind of fucked-up shit my father loves to do to women. We watched him physically and mentally abuse our mother for years. The day I turned twenty-one, I made sure my father never laid a hand on my mother again. That’s not to say he’s stopped hurting women because he hasn’t. Now, he has a mistress to abuse. He doesn’t know I know about her, but I do. Surely my mother has to know too.

As the elevator door opens, Matt, my senior editor and good friend, is exiting. I pin him with my signature icy stare. I can tell by the look that crosses his face he knows I’m in one of my moods, so he wisely says nothing and passes me quickly. These moods only happen when I have to communicate with the man on the other end of my phone.

“Nicholas,” he stresses, “just call your sister for me. I don’t have time for Nicolette right now. I’m walking into court as we speak.” He has never had time for Nikki or me for that matter. Not that I care. I stopped caring about my father before I learned to write my own God damn name.

“Sure, Dad!” I force out through clenched teeth. “I’ll handle it. We’ll be there on Thursday at noon. Is there anything else? I have a meeting to get to.” I’m not totally lying. I do have a meeting to attend, but it’s not for another hour.

“No, there isn’t. I’ll see you then.” He ends the call, not bothering to say goodbye. This is nothing unusual. He thinks everyone around him is there is serve him.

I enter the elevator and I press number eleven. As I ride up, I send Nikki a quick text letting her know the plans for Thanksgiving. This is sure to brighten her day as much as it has mine. My sister is the female version of myself. But perhaps Nikki controls her anger a little more than I do.

As I move my hand to store my phone in the breast pocket of my jacket, I hear the alert telling me I have a text message. I look down; it’s my sister’s reply.

FUCK!

The corners of my mouth turn up as I shove the phone back inside my jacket just as the elevator reaches my destination. My smile fades; I’m not looking forward to the rest of my day. Dealing with Teresa is one thing, but after dealing with Judge James ‘Asshole’ Lewis, I’m sure I’ll take out my anger on her at some point today.

As I exit the elevator, something, or rather someone, catches my eye. She is standing at my receptionist, Rachel’s desk, with her back facing me. The legs catch my attention first. They are toned and her skin is fair. Her body turns a fraction as my eyes travel up, seeing a side profile. She is slender, but not at all skinny. My eyes continue its path up her body.

Fuck me, Sunday!

My eyes land on her hair. It’s a stunning shade of red. Darker than strawberry-blonde, but lighter than auburn. It’s shiny and bright; unique and exotic like a rare pet. Damn, did I just compare a woman to a pet? That’s a new one even for you, Lockhart.

I can’t see the color of her eyes from where I’m standing, but that mouth…those pink fucking lips are made for sucking cock. I allow my eyes to drop. She’s wearing a navy dress and it’s a little on the short side to be considered business attire, but it looks good on her body.

Fuck!

Get a hold of yourself, Lockhart. You’re at work, man.

My eyes glide back up her body, back up to those fucking beautiful drapes that fall down her back. She looks like an angel…an angel I’d like to tie down and fuck.

But God damn, that hair is making my dick hard!

“Nope.” He reached over and placed his index finger over my lips, instantly quieting my argument. “You can deny it all you want, but I know that you can feel the chemistry between us. When I saw you at the Sig Chi party with Jackson, I wanted you right away. I thought I couldn’t have you, and it pissed me off. I was wrong. I’ve never been so happy to be wrong about something. ‘Cause believe me when I say that I’m going to have you, and I’m not sure I’m going to want to let you go again.”

I didn’t know what to say. His confession shocked the hell out of me! I felt like he was steamrolling over me, and I really wanted to cave. His finger caressed my lips as he waited for my response. I’d felt this thing between us, but I just didn’t know if I could trust him.
“I’ll come to the party with you. We’ll talk, but that’s all that’s going to happen tonight. Understand?”
“Okay, babe. I hear you. Keep in mind that it isn’t tonight yet.” He leaned towards me and his lips crushed against mine. His tongue licked the seam of my mouth, and he nibbled on my lower lip. My brain turned to mush, and my body started to tremble in response. My eyes drifted closed as I enjoyed our first kiss.
Drake groaned deep in his throat, and I could feel the vibrations through the kiss. He pecked the corner of my lips and pulled away from me. Handing me the bags, he nudged me through the door before I could react. My head was still spinning.
“One hour. Be ready for me,” he said before turning around and striding away from me. Damn, I was going to be in so much trouble with this guy. There is just no controlling my response to him, I thought as I watched his ass until I couldn’t see him anymore.

Excerpt

“No,” I scream, shoving him so hard he takes two steps back. “I won’t listen to you. All you’re going to do is make me feel incomplete. Do you know that you can do that? Make someone feel so utterly worthless? You touched me like I mattered, and yet you look at me like I’m a sale. I won’t do it. I don’t deserve it. I don’t…”

He’s moving toward me before I can finish, and before I know what’s happening he grips my shoulder and jerks me forward, crushing his lips down on mine.

My world stops.

My legs give way.

Hendrix wraps his arms around my waist, holding me up before parting my shocked frozen lips with his tongue. It only takes a moment for me to respond. My entire body is tingling with warmth, my heart is thumping, and my stomach is full of butterflies. I open my mouth to him, and I let him slide his tongue inside. I connect my tongue with his, and finally, I get to taste him. It’s been worth the wait. His lips, his tongue, his mouth: it’s like heaven. The feeling of his stubble on my cheeks is exactly as I imagined.

“Ally baby please. I fucked up but please, I can do better. Please forgive me.” He begged

“Marco, there is nothing between us anymore. I’m done. We are done. Shouldn’t you be off with Trish somewhere?” Her name was like bile in my mouth.

“Ally it’s not like that with her, I was just scared.” I raised my hand to stop him; I didn’t want to go through this with him all over again.

“Stop. Just Stop. There is nothing between us anymore Marco, please just leave.” I swallowed back any tears that were threating to show. Stepping back I closed the door and leaned my back on it, slowly sliding down to the ground. Inhaling deep I tried to calm my nerves and heard the flower arrangement being placed on the ground as Marco spoke.

“I know you can still hear me Ally, and I want you to know that I’ll never give up on us. Never! You hear me? I fucked up. I know I did but I love you.” As the tears dripped from my eyes I wiped them away as quickly as I could. I wasn’t crying because I was sad. I was just so tired of repeating the past five years in my head and seeing it end like this.

“Marco, please just leave me alone.” I shouted from behind the door

“I’ll always fight for you. I’ll find a way to make you mine again. Mark my words Alani, you will spend the rest of your life with me.”/p>
