Trulee V’s Spot is a place in which our love for books and interesting subject matters that arises from those books, run wild. This blog was created so that avid readers and book lovers would have a place to go and share our thoughts and reviews about books we have read, share new and upcoming releases, and of course participate in giveaways. This allows other readers insight on what to read and also a place where we can chat about books. We regularly post book reviews ranging from Young Adult to Nonfiction. Welcome! Pull up a chair and prepare to enable my book-buying habits.

I’m Valencia, and if we’ve just met, there are a few things you should know about me:

• I have never met a bookstore I didn’t like.
• I firmly believe sleep is negotiable when a plot twist is involved.
• My children have accepted that fictional characters occasionally occupy my thoughts.
• I will absolutely recommend a book before I’ve finished talking about the last one.
• I consider buying more books and reading more books to be two completely separate hobbies.

Originally from Chicago and now living in sunny Phoenix, Arizona, I’ve spent my life chasing creativity in all its forms. I’m a mother of four, published author, youth mentor, coach, community advocate, entrepreneur, and professional wearer of too many hats. Somehow, I make all of those things coexist alongside an ever-growing collection of books.

My reading journey started as a little girl winning Young Authors programs and writing poetry while my grandmother unknowingly became my literary dealer. She introduced me to authors who shaped my imagination and taught me that books could be adventurous, romantic, terrifying, heartbreaking, and life-changing all at once.

Today, my bookshelves are filled with everything from romantic suspense and dark family sagas to fantasy, contemporary romance, thrillers, and psychological suspense. If a story has morally gray characters, dangerous secrets, family drama, impossible choices, or a hero I’d gladly defend in an online debate, chances are I’m reading it.

Beyond books, I’m passionate about serving my community and mentoring young people. Whether I’m coaching cheerleaders, building inclusive youth programs, writing novels, or cheering on aspiring readers and writers, I believe stories have the power to inspire us to dream a little bigger and live a little bolder.

This little corner of the internet is where I get to share my greatest literary adventures with you. Expect honest reviews, new releases, giveaways, book recommendations, author interviews, and the occasional emotional meltdown over fictional people who don’t actually exist.

And yes, I am a published author. No, I’m not going to make it easy for you to figure out which book. Where’s the fun in that?
