5 STARS

SYNOPSIS:

What happens when the one person you never expected suddenly happens to be the one you’ll fight the hardest to keep?

Colton stole my heart. He wasn’t supposed to, and I sure as hell didn’t want him to, but he crashed into my life, ignited feelings within me that I thought had died forever, and fueled a passion that I never knew could exist.

Rylee fell out of that damn storage closet and into my life. Now I don’t think I’ll ever be the same. She’s seen glimpses of the darkness within me, and yet she’s still here. Still fighting for me. She is without a doubt the saint, and I am most definitely the sinner.

How is it the one thing neither of us wanted—neither of us anticipated that fateful night—has us fighting so hard to keep?

He steals my breath, stops my heart, and brings me back to life again all in a split second of time. But how can I love a man who won’t let me in? Who continually pushes me away to prevent me from seeing the damaged secrets in his past? My heart has fallen, but patience and forgiveness can only go so far.

How can I desire a woman who unnerves me, defies me, and forces me to see that in the deep, black abyss of my soul there’s someone worthy of her love? A place and person I swore I’d never be again. Her selfless heart and sexy body deserve so much more than I’ll ever be capable of giving her. I know I can’t be what she needs, so why can’t I just let her go?

We are driven by need and fueled with desire, but is that enough for us to crash into love?

MY REVIEW:

K. Bromberg delivers an amazing follow up to Driven, picking up right where it left off.

“Spiderman. Batman. Superman. Ironman.”

I felt like I was on an emotional roller coaster while reading this novel.  Fueled sets you heart and mind on a direct collision course of drama, passion and all things unimaginable. I’m so caught up in this series that I’m NOT able to form coherent thoughts, let along attempt to write about it.

‘My body reacts instinctively to Colton’s movements

driven by such unexpected need,

fueled by such a relentless desire,

and crashing into unimaginable possibilities.’ ~

I really liked Rylee in Driven, and here in the second book, she’s still the feisty, say whats on her mind, will not settle woman who came into Colton’s life, but she has also grown in this novel. Her determination to understand and help heal the man she loves, has her refusing to be pushed over and making strides in holding her ground against the force of nature that is Colton Donovan. And a force of nature he is ladies!!!! But even in her demands, Rylee is terrified that it will be these same demands that might drive him away completely.

I’m not going to give spoilers, but Fueled really gave more than glimpses of what makes Colton Donovan, Colton Donovan. Through this hard alpha male exterior, I really began to really get Colton and what he’s going through and trying damn hard to keep hidden. Boy does he have some things hidden, and, wow, what a story he has, which continues to unfold. At times I found myself really hurting with and for Colton. Yet I can’t imagine what it is really like to live as he is doing.

Their internal and external battles with each other has you holding on to the edge of your seat and fanning at the increased intensity between the two. They each knew just how to tick the other off which resulted in certain lines being drawn in the sand, obstacles arising everywhere, and oftentimes, reacting from a place of fear and pain.

Fueled had a truly unforgettable, cliffhanging ending!!  It was breathtaking, emotional, thrilling, frightening, amazing, beautiful, and crafted in such a way that yet again I’m hot as fish grease because “Crashed (Book 3)” hasn’t been release yet.  UGH!!!!!! I’m so thankful that this sequel was even better than the first novel, but you must read Driven first!!. K. Bromberg is an amazing writer and I’m so happy that I stumbled across this series.

OH MY GOODNESS THIS BOOK IS…. BEYOND AWESOME.  Grab both books if you haven’t gotten them yet.

Book Review: Driven (The Driven Trilogy) Book #1 by K. Bromberg

5 STARSdriven.k.bromberg

SYNOPSIS:

Rylee Thomas is used to being in control. But she’s about to meet the one man that just might make her enjoy losing it… I am the exception to the rule. In a world full of willing women, I’m a challenge to the roguish and achingly handsome Colton Donavan. A man used to getting exactly what he wants in all aspects of life. He’s the reckless bad boy constantly skating that razor thin edge toward out of control, on and off of the track. Colton crashes into my life like a tornado: sapping my control, testing my vulnerabilities beyond their limits, and unintentionally penetrating the protective wall around my healing heart. Tearing apart the world I rebuilt so carefully with structure, predictability, and discipline. I can’t give him what he wants and he can’t give me what I need. But after a glimpse beneath his refined exterior into the dark secrets of his damaged soul, can I bring myself to walk away? Our sexual chemistry is undeniable. Our individual need for complete control is irrefutable. But when our worlds collide, is the chemistry enough to bring us together or will our untold secrets and battle of wills force us apart?

My REVIEW:

Dealing with issues of her past, Rylee Thomas has found an outlet and passion in her job at Corporate Cares, that keeps her very busy. Taking control of her life has been a refuge and a defense mechanism to her healing heart. Taking lead in a project to raise funding for the expansion of a group home for orphans in her care, Rylee’s charity date auction event seems to be going well, that is until she remembers that she has forgotten a few key items to the actual auction. Headed backstage to retrieve the missing items prior to the auction bidding Rylee finds herself in an uncomfortable situation; getting trapped in the storage closet, that has her in a state of panic. While doing her best to not overreact to the circumstances, but failing, Rylee finds herself in the arms of one handsome rescuer.

Playboy race car driver, Colton Donovan, comes to the rescue of Rylee and one look at her has him knowing he wants her. Challenged by the feisty woman who melts in his arms Colton sets in motion a series of events just to get what he wants, which is her. Not having any control over Rylee is what initially attracts him the most to her.  Her resistance is a new concept for him, and he just won’t accept that this sexy woman who responded so well to him in the heat of the moment, refuses to give him the time of day. Determined to do things his way and the only way he knows how, Colton won’t give up when Rylee blatantly rejects him along with his standing reputation as a world-class playboy, and manipulates his way into her personal life, work life and the lives of the boys in her care.

~”Hi Ace,” I say guardedly. “Since when did you add stalker to you repertoire of talents?”

He dashes me a lightening fast grin. “I’d be more than happy to show you my talents, Sweetheart.”

I roll my eyes at him. “Womanising is not talent.”~

~”Keep fighting me, Sweetheart. The feistier you are, the harder you make me.”~

Sighs contently…….I have added another book boyfriend to my list.

This book caught my attention from the beginning with the interesting way in which the characters meet and I wasn’t able to put it down after that. I loved the characters and most definitely enjoyed the feistiness of Rylee and her ability to say what was really on her mind. She was certainly going to make Colton work for what he wanted. Bromberg’s creativity and believability in this novel was absolutely riveting. Not only was it very easy to read, but I really fell in love with the characters and could feel and see the passion they had for that which they loved, (Rylee her orphan boys, and Colton racing). Between this passion and the passion they developed together Bromberg had me fanning myself at the intensity.

Both Rylee and Colton are fighting for control to protect themselves and their past from the vulnerabilities this union could expose. Though Rylee begins to open up in this novel, Colton has secrets so dark he refuses to have anything not on his terms. What I really loved about Rylee in this book is how she takes a stand for herself and her needs, as much as she wants Colton, she wont settle on her needs and that is something Colton wont give in to.

Everything about their relationship is so incredibly intense – the good, the bad, the sex, the drama.  I was hooked from the first page and the story line consumed me from start to finish. Though I was hot as fish grease at the cliffhanger at the end, but that was short lived because the second book was already out. YAY!!!!!!!

OH MY GOODNESS THIS BOOK IS…. AWESOME.  Grab your copy today.

Book Review: Dead Sexy by Paige Tyler

deadsexy

3.5 Stars

SYNOPSIS:

Can her love save him from a curse worse than death?

Romance author Simone Kent thinks she might just have found the most perfect guy in all of New York City – in bed and out.

But Drake Parrish is about as far from perfect as any man can get. Eight years ago, he was cursed by an evil Voodoo priestess to live part of his life as a zombie. Since then, he has lived like a recluse on New York’s Upper East Side, afraid to go out for fear he’ll suddenly turn into one of the walking dead.

The sex is the hottest either of them has ever experienced and Simone discovers just how naughty she can be with Drake, while he finds himself feeling things for Simone he hasn’t felt in a very long time. When the Voodoo priestess learns of their relationship, however, she comes after him again. She’s determined he won’t have a future with Simone, even if that means killing both him and the woman he loves.

MY REVIEW:

Well I was presently surprised that this book really caught my attention and kept me turning pages. I was really trying to figure out how zombies and romance can coexist but after reading this novel I’m not sure I could have been the heroine in it. That was really freaky!!!!!

Drake Parrish is cursed by a Voodoo priestess to live as a part time zombie thus putting a real halt to his playboy lifestyle. Drake now finds himself as a recluse for the next  few years, that is until one chance opportunity to meet with Author Simone Kent comes along and he can’t resist the author whose books he has come to enjoy.  Taking a huge risk of exposing himself, Drake makes the decision to meet up with the author who has seemed to intrigue him.

Simone Kent is a best selling author who finds herself in a bit of a sticky situation and looking for a solution when Drake Parrish comes highly recommended. Unsure about her decision to contact him, Simone is in a desperate place and chooses to do just that as she hasn’t been able to come up with a workable solution. Only problem is, no-one has ever physically met Drake Parrish and this has Simone questioning just how much he will be able to assist her restricted contact methods.  Finding working with Drake is easier than she thought it could be, Simone is now caught in a morass of images of what he could possibly look like and thus takes a chance and asks for a meeting.

Some of the story was a little hard for me to believe as it developed, but author Paige Tyler has a very creative imagination which kept me reading. This novel  has some very interesting action scenes and a whole lot of believable HOT sex.  Though I was unsure how the story would unfold with zombies and romance, I was surprisingly entertained as it was very different from most of the paranormal novels I’ve read. Not to mention I also felt like I was reading some of the Walking Dead TV Series scripts at certain points in the novel………but thats a tv series I absolutely love :-).

If you like paranormal and zombies, I will definitely recommend this novel as it has both creatively entwined to make a novel that will certainly keep you turning the pages and cringing at the same time.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review (LoP or Lovers of Paranormal)
